If the set shuts down prior to getting the DC up enough then you've got problems in the horizontal section. Either you have something wrong with the high voltage transformer or the tuning caps or there is a problem with the x-ray protect pick off voltage to the deflection IC.

It looks like the E682 can send DMX controls. I saw Jim call it 2-wire DMX. I've got a Renard SS24 board being shipped to me with the DMX firmware. Can I just connect some cat5 cables between one of the connection points on the E682 (like 4-2) and the Input port on the Renard SS24 (J2)? I'm an idiot about electronics.
